ABD becomes BCC

Big news: The ABD Centre is changing its name to The Bacup Community Centre, or 'The BCC' for short.

We came to this decision after consulting with members of the local community, stakeholders, and trustees. We will never forget our roots as The Aged, Blind, and Disabled Centre, as this is the community served in the past. But as we are now catering to the entire local community, we felt the centre's name should reflect that. This new name will also help with spreading awareness of our facilities across the valley and beyond. We will install an interpretation board on the outside of the centre later in the year, which will honour the centre's history and heritage. Nothing will change about the day-to-day operations of the centre, so we are looking forward to continuing to welcome you at our friendly community centre.
